Since playing football, Rodney has developed an impressive media career.
He worked as a studio and live guest exclusively for ITV during the entire 1990 World Cup Finals in Italy He then presented for CNN in the US during the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
As much as he enjoyed his time in America, Rodney missed English football so he returned to England for a series of nationally acclaimed live road shows together with his great friend, George Best. He subsequently signed a contract with Sky Sports as an analyst on a live 6 hour show, Gillette Soccer Saturday.
Rodney spent 12 years at Sky and in 2005 joined Talk Sport to host his own daily weekday drive time radio talk show and also worked exclusively for them in Germany during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. During this time, he was hired by Yahoo! to be their football expert on weekly predictions for the Premiership, Champions League and FIFA 2006 World Cup.
Rodney starred in last year’s award winning docudrama movie, “Once in a Lifetime”, a movie narrated by Matt Dillon, highlighting football in the 70’s in the US.
Rodney has featured in a number of television, radio and print advertisements over the years for a wide range of global brands.
And if you are an Oasis fan, you will find Rodney wearing his Manchester City kit on the front cover of the ‘Definitely Maybe’ album.
2007 was a busy year. Rodney filmed an exclusive DVD, Soccer Heroes the Glory Years, which was released in the UK in time for Christmas. In October, Rodney appeared as a player representing Manchester City and was the studio analyst on the successful Sky One production of the Premiership All Stars series.
